Local Artisan Baker of Focaccia, Scones, Muffins and Pies in Vienna, VA
Today, in Maddie’s Kitchen, the focaccia bread is baked in our oven-- and nothing about it is plain! Like bread from our ancestors, it is made with flour, salt, olive oil, water, and yeast. However, from there, our bread becomes unique with many types of toppings and special ingredients rolled right into the dough. We will have the traditional rosemary, with sea salt on top to a more robust pepperoni (chunks rolled into the dough) with grated parmesan cheese added on top as soon as it comes from the oven.
We will be baking focaccia each week – with either toppings or ingredients rolled into the bread. I will post on social media, Facebook and Instagram, and via email on Sunday afternoon any special breads that will be baked that week. The breads will be ready for pick up on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays, depending on week’s schedule. Special requests accepted, particularly if multiple loaves ordered.

ABOUT MADDIE
Owner
Madeleine Abel, owner, chief baker and pan scrubber of From Maddie's Kitchen is a woman who spent the past 40 years in the commercial property management business. However, her first love is cooking/baking and entertaining.
"In 2021, a memorable year for many reasons, when I lost my job, I felt it was now or never to start marketing the baked goods I have made and distributed to friends and family for years. I started with my two most raved about baked goods - my focaccia and scones."
Over time, responding to requests, she has added quick breads, muffins and now her family's favorite pies. Starting with her pumpkin pie and pecan pie, made with freshly cooked pumpkins and beautiful crust decorations, each season she will introduce a number of others, from fresh blueberry, strawberry pies to peach pies in oatmeal crust. Her multi-layer apple cake is also available.
Ordering and Pick-up
Madeleine has pick-up at four locations:
– Her home in Vienna VA
– **NEW** Trace - The Zero Waste Store in Vienna
– McLean Hardware (must be arranged in advance)
– a location in Fairfax, on Thursdays or Fridays.
Madeleine bakes 1-2 days a week with pick ups both days, typically Thursday and Friday. Holiday pick ups will be announced on social media and via her mailing list! To get on her mailing list just email her at [email protected]. Each week you will receive an email containing that week's menu of baked goods, pick up locations, times and schedules. AND, specials! Look for posts on social media each week.

For non-meat eaters, we have veggies such as zucchini and green onions. With or without cheese (parmesan or pecorino) on top. Salt on top is typical, but if you don’t want it, you don’t have to have it!
